Plans for Galomy Oak's C & D litters will be announced later this year.
Cost of Puppy ~ $1500.00 Co-ownership ~ $ 1000.00 (See Requirements below) * SHipping only to homes that have previously visited Galomy Oak, and have met Me and the dogs. New owner is responsible for all costs associated with shipping.
Co-Ownership Galomy Oak reserves the right to place 1st pick of litter for each sex into co-ownership homes (or to retain the puppy in our own breeding program). Co-ownership homes will ideally have experience in the show or working rings, and also for females, with breeding dogs. I may consider other homes as well, but these homes will have to plan on being active with their dog in the show and/or working ring. Co-ownership homes are offered the chance to own/live with a dog of very high quality for a greatly reduced price. In return, the new Co-owner will allow Galomy Oak to health test and breed with the dog if it is suitable to our breeding program. Co-ownership homes must be located within a day's drive from Virginia, and the dogs must be available to Galomy Oak for breeding throughout the ages of 2-12 years for males, 2-8 years for females. Contact Galomy Oak for more details.
Show and Working Contract (Breeding Contract) Show/Working Contracts - Homes that hope to one Day Breed - will initially be sold as co-ownership dogs. These contracts will state that the dog will be championed, have earned a training title (such as CGC) and/or earned a working sport degree and also have had health Clearances (Hip/elbow dysplasia, CERF, DNA/Degenerative Myelopathy*, DNA/Lens Subluxation* ), prior to the dog being bred. Upon completion of these requirements, co-ownership with Galomy Oak will convert to full ownership for the new owner. If dog is bred before these requirements are met, Galomy Oak will not release the signature to register litters born from the dog, making the puppies ineligible for AKC or UKC registration.
* tests required from litters bred with a carrier/normal or At-Risk/Normal Combination of parents. Normal/Normal litters are clear by parentage
Companion Contract. Companion contracts are offered in two ways:
1. I definitely DO NOT want to show or breed my dog... The first is through limited registration. Limited registration contracts do not allow the owner to breed, or to show in conformation classes - it is still possible to compete in companion events. With a limited registration contract, the owner will have full ownership from the start.
2. I'm not really sure right now - but I might want to show or breed my dog in the future...
The second type of companion contract is very similar to a show/working contract. Galomy Oak will retain half-ownership until the dog reaches requirements regarding conformation, health and temperament, at which time the ownership will convert to full ownership. If you decide to spay or neuter the dog, you will automatically receive full ownership rights.
