Young/Adult Dogs

We have some potential openings for co-ownership on males to be used in our
breeding program. Generally, these males will be adults of very high quality, but
maybe available for a reduced fee due to age or restrictions on breeding. For more

Galomy Oak Adams Morgan "Corgan"
Whelped December 24, 2009
Male for CO-Ownership

We are considering the placement of Corgan into a co-ownership home, preferably
somewhere on the east coast. Corgan has lived with us since he was a puppy, as a
loving companion, and to be used as part of our breeding program. He was bred in
our first litter. As we now have 3 adult male dogs, we think COrgan's emotional
needs would be served best in a setting where he was the only male, but we are in no
rush to place him either, and are looking for exactly the right home. He has started
training in Obedience and Tracking, and is doing quite well. He has a ton of food
drive, and a moderate amount of prey drive. Corgan has a slightly sharp
temperament, and would be well-suited to a Training home with an experienced,
patient handler with no kids or small pets. He would probably be fine with a
tolerant female dog around the same size, but does display some same sex
aggression. He is 100% crate trained and housebroken - and loves to snuggle. He is a
powerful, intelligent and energetic dog. COrgan will be health tested for hips and
elbows, as well as eyes in April. He is a Degenerative Myelopathy carrier (he will
never have the disease, but must only be bred to females that test clear). The new
owner must agree to leave this dog intact for potential future breeding through
Galomy oak.

Due to the nature of this breed, and the potential for problems if puppies go to
unsuitable homes, home evaluations will need to be performed prior to the
reservation or sale of any puppy or dog. For more information on this process,
please contact Galomy Oak at:

kennel@galomyoak.com

Please note: Reservations will only be made for:
* homes that are experienced with dominant, large breeds
* Homes that can provide the correct upbringing and training for the breed
* Homes that have the correct elements (space, containment, lifestyle, etc) to
comfortably and adequately maintain the breed
* Homes that can guarantee a lifetime of love, discipline and good health for the
puppies

All puppies will be sold with a guarantee of health. Basic Obedience training
between the ages of 6 and 10 months is a requirement in all contracts. All litters
will be AKC/FSS and UKC registered.

Expectations of new owner, to apply to all contracts

* The new owner will abide by all laws regarding their new puppy, and will act
responsibly so as to promote a positive awareness and image of this breed, and never
partake in negative activities, such as cross-breeding their dog or backyard breeding

* The new owner will take their new dog to group obedience classes (very important
and helpful for socialization) between 6 and 10 months of age

* The new owner will have their dog hip tested by either:
Penn-hip, by 2 years of age
OFA, at 2 years of age
This is a requirement for the health guarantee to go into effect, or in the case of
owners planning to breed or show, a requirement for sole ownership to go into
effect.

* All puppies are sold initially with limited registration (not does not have breeding
rights or conformation show rights, and must be spayed or neutered), or with
co-ownership. Once the puppy has had all necessary health tests (Hip, elbow,
Degenerative Myelopathy, CERF (eyes), and Canine Good Citizen), co-ownership will
automatically convert to full ownership by the new owner. This rule is to help
protect litters from unhealthy or temperamentally unsound dogs being brought
into the world, and also to protect our kennel name from such dogs being produced.
Keep in mind that if the dog is found to have a health defect, you will automatically
be eligible for  a new puppy (the choice is yours to keep or return your original dog,
spay/neuter applies), when the timing is right for you, and we have an available
litter.

* The new owner will feed high quality food, such as Corn/Wheat/Soy free kibble,
or the BARF diet

* The new owner will provide quality health care for their new puppy, including
spaying or neutering if appropriate

Below is a link to a questionnaire for potential CSV puppy owners, with some advice
and warnings included. It is not necessary to fill this questionnaire out to be
considered for a puppy, but is intended to give prospective owners some questions to
seriously ask themselves before pursuing the purchase of a vlcak puppy. These
questions are some of the same that will be asked in home evaluations.
