Our son was the light of our life, who still
continues to shine brightly upon us every day.
Christian was the son that every parent dreams
about, and every day spent with him was a miracle.
On March 25th, 2007, Christian was diagnosed
with brain masses, after 10 days of vomiting and
lethargy. Our world fell apart. For the next 3
months our son's health rapidly declined as he
endured hardship after hardship. We were
fortunate to have the skilled Doctors, Nurses,
Therapists, and assistants at The Children's
Hospital of the King's Daughters in Norfolk,
Virginia to embrace our son and our family. Their
kindness and compassion will always hold a
place in our hearts. We were also blessed to
have the support of our community in Gloucester,
and the love of my Peasley Middle School Family
to see us through. Our son lost his hard fought
battle on June 7, 2007 at around 10 am. I hope
he could feel our love until the very end.
Christian had a very rare form of cancer called
Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumors (AT/RT). It is
most commonly diagnosed in children under 3,
and has a less than 10 percent survival rate. The
incidence of AT/RT increases by around 3% in the
US each year.
We are dedicated to preserving Christian's
memory, and continuing his fight for the other
children who are battling this disease...and
those who have yet to be diagnosed. We miss our
litttle Warrior.

*We do not support "Relay for Life" in terms of finding cures
for pediatric cancers. Because of the small percentage of
pediatric cancer in overall cancers, very little money is
devoted to finding cures for children's cancer from "relay
for Life". "Relay for Life" is an excellent resource, and a great
cause for finding cures for adult cancers.*
